Asian Drama Fever

YouTube Censorship

Posted on: May 2, 2007

YouTube is really getting on my nerves since they’ve started censoring videos they believe to be copyrighted. I’m been trying to upload episodes of UNLICENSED asian drama but a few of them do not make it through. The truely annoying thing is that it seems that YouTube ramdomly chooses which episodes (or ten minute parts of episodes) they censor – there is no logic or reason.

Now I’m searching for a new place to upload videos. I’ve had a lot of suggestions but no other website is close to YouTube in popularity. Also, Crunchyroll started rejecting videos without english subs.

Have you sent in a support ticket on the issue? There may be a different cause to the issue.

Have you tried http://www.dailymotion.com? I watched a whole subtitled Japanese drama there – the videos can be up to 20 minutes long each, and the screens are larger. Moreover, its free. Lots of the users are french, but there are plenty of Asian drama videos popping up there already.

I suggest uploading on veoh. It’s been gaining popularity, because there is no limit to how long a video can be, and videos can also be downloaded.
